Nairobi. KENYA: National men’s soccer team Harambee Stars has moved up two places in the FIFA rankings according to the latest statistics released by World football governing body on Thursday.
Stars are now ranked 105 from 107 globally and are the second best team in East Africa region Cecafa after Uganda who sits 79 globally.
Kenya’s latest rise can be attributed to her success in Africa Nations cup qualifiers triumph over Ethiopia where the team registered a 3-0 at home having settled for a barren draw in the first leg.
Continentally, Tunisia is ranked the best at 22nd globally, while Senegal (25), Nigeria (44), Congo DRC (46) and Morocco (47) complete the best five.
Globally, Belgium maintained the top spot while champions France are second. Five-time champions Brazil are third as beaten world cup finalists Croatia and England wrap the top five.
