Korean martial arts perform in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: Mombasa residents were on Thursday entertained by South Korean martial art players during the Taekwondo Kukkiwon demonstration held at Treasury square.

Close to 30 South Korean players show cased their skills during the event organized by Kenya Taekwondo federation Mombasa branch in collaboration with Mombasa county Government.

The event was presided over by Taekwondo chairman Kim Kyu Jong together with Mombasa sports chief officer Rajab Babu.

Babu thanked the Mombasa Taekwondo association for organizing the event.

“I take this opportunity to appreciate Taekwondo association of Mombasa and also the coaches who have been burning the midnight oil to make sure that kukkiwon sport takes place,’’ said the Mombasa sports chief officer

‘’I also recognize the twenty five members who traveled all the way from South Korea to come and show the people of Mombasa what Kukkiwon is all about”, he added.

He also said that come next year the association will be organizing for competitions that will enable the Kenyan team travel to South Korea.
