Nairobi. KENYA: Harambee stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi is set to join Ethiopian giants St. Georges.
According to reports, the Tusker FC goalkeeper jetted off on Thursday to complete his move to St. Georges after the two clubs reportedly agreed on a transfer fee.
Matasi’s move comes barely four months after he made a free transfer from Posta Rangers to the Brewers.
The 30-year-old has been in good shape not conceding any goal during the 2019 African cup of Nations qualifiers including the back-to-back tier against Ethiopia.
If the deal materializes, it will be the second multi-billion deal for Tusker following the exit of Ugandan Shaffik Batambuze who joined Tanzania’s side Singida United in 2017.
Batambuze has however made a return to the Kenyan Premier League by joining champions Gor Mahia.
