Monica Kimani Murder: Maribe fit for trial

Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe is fit for trial.

According to her lawyer Katwa Kigen, Maribe who underwent mental assessment tests on Thursday, is fit to stand trial in the murder of Monica Kimani.

“Yes, she is well as we all expected. We all saw her the last time we were in court and now we will move forward with the plea-taking on Monday then apply for bail,” Kigen told Capital FM.

The mental assessment was done in Mathari hospital following a court order on Tuesday.

Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, appeared at the Milimani law courts on Tuesday before High Court Judge Jessie Lessit.

The judge ordered Maribe be remanded at Lang’ata women’s prison and Irungu at Industrial Area Prison until Monday when they will be taken to court to take a plea then apply for bail.
