Nairobi, KENYA: Several companies from countries who are members of the Common Market for East and Central Africa are this year participating in the Nairobi ASK show.

Speaking to Baraka FM in Nairobi, trade officer of  ASK Alfred Letting, pointed out that the show is a major platform for learning new trade technology as it is the largest trade fair in Eastern Africa that holds almost 75 percent of the exhibitors that showcase their products.

He added that with the introduction of the free market for Common Market of Eastern and South Africa COMESA countries like South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Malawi are present to showcase their products.

Letting urged Kenyans to come out in large numbers and learn from both the local and international trade manufacturers skills.

” My expectation is to see Kenyans come here and see all round of varieties of products including Kenya seeds provided also by small companies like Eastern African seeds and we also have our agro seeds,” Said Letting.

NEW PRODUCTS

According to Letting some companies like Kenya Wildlife Services will be introducing new gadgets like a microchip that is inserted in Rhinos for tracking purposes.

During the show, Equity bank was very relevant in selling their new mobile phone application system that targets to reach a bigger percentage of people.

Ministry of petroleum and mining was also showcasing different types of equipment meant for analyzing the composition of rocks and how the mineral are deposited underground.

COMPANIES

Some of the companies present on the show include; Simlaw seeds company, KEMRI, Kenya Power, Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC),NITA, Kenya Ports Authority, KeMSA, Jumbo Tanks, Dairy board,
KUCCPS,Kenya National Bureau for Statics KNBS, Safaricom among others.

During the seven day that the show will be running, the key guest that will pay a visit include; South Sudan and Brazil Ambassador to Kenya.

Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is also expected on Wednesday on the show while president Uhuru Kenyatta who is the chief guest will on Thursday expected to officially open the show.

The show started date 1st and is expected to end on date 7 October 2018.
