Citizen TV news anchor and journalist Jacque Maribe will be detained for 10 more days to allow further investigations in the murder of Monica Kimani.
Maribe who was arrested on Saturday evening was arraigned in Kiambu Court on Monday morning.
The news anchor was arrested in connection to the gruesome murder of 28 year old business woman Monica Kimani.
Maribe will be detained at Gigiri police station in Nairobi.
Her lawyer Katwa Kigen had requested the court to detain her for two days only.
“We pray that if she has to be detained, let it be up to Wednesday. We also pray that the environment where she will be kept will not be unfair to her,” said Kigen.
Maribe’s Fiance Joe Irungu alias Jowi, who is the prime suspect in the murder of Monica Kimani, was presented to court last week.
Brian Kassaine, also a suspect in the murder, will be detained for 11 more days at Lang’ata Police station as police investigate the matter.
Kassaine, who is a mutual friend to both Maribe and Jowi, was arraigned in Kiambu law courts on Monday.
