According to the Chairperson boda boda riders in Taita Taveta County Mr. Mohamed Dudu, police laxity has led to drug menace and alcoholism with the youths who engage in bodaboda business being most affected since they squander their money on alcholol.

“I am shocked when police officers for three days provided security to a house in Voi sub-county where drugs were sold. They stopped the public from destroying that house.” claimed Dudu.

Dudu reported that in several cases police have released robbers and gangsters found to have stolen motorbike without taking them to Court.

Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja warned the security agents in the County to stop shielding drug barons. He threatened to involve Interior Ministry CS  Fred Matiang’i to  have them removed for colluding with drug dealers.

“It is disappointing when government is fighting drugs, police officers here are hiding them ,”said  Samboja.
