Nairobi, KENYA: The High Court has ordered governor Okoth Obado to be remanded at the Industrial Area remand prison pending the hearing of his bail application which is slated for Tuesday at 2.00pm.
Obado had spent three days at Gigiri police station awaiting his trial appeared at the Mlimani law courts on Monday to answer to charges of murdering his pregnant ex-girlfriend Sharon Otieno.
While appearing before Judge Jessie Lessit, Okoth pleaded not guilty to the charges of murdering the slain Rongo University student.
The prosecution is seeking to have Obado denied bail arguing that Obado is fit to stand trial after a mental assessment confirmed he is of sound mind.
