Kenya rises in FIFA ranking

Nairobi, KENYA: National men’s soccer team Harambee Stars has moved up five places in the latest World rankings.

According to the rankings released by World governing FIFA on Thursday, Kenya is placed at position 107 from 112 where it held last month.

Stars are the biggest movers after earning a total of 22 points following their 1-0 over Ghana in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana’s Black Stars has dropped six spots to 51 as Tunisia move up one place to 23 to make them the highest ranked nation in Africa.

Senegal who topped in August has dropped to 25th in the world and 2nd in Africa after they were held to a 2-2 draw in Madagascar in AFCON qualifiers.

Belgium also gained a place in the rankings to become the joint number one globally alongside World Cup winners France.
