Japanese billionaire to travel to the moon for amusement

A Japanese billionaire is Yusaku Maezawa set to be the first passenger to travel to the moon for amusement.
This is according to SpaceX owned by Billionaire Elon Musk who have announced that Yusaku Maezawa would be that tourist.

“The first private passenger to fly around the Moon aboard BFR is fashion innovator and globally recognized art curator Yusaku Maezawa.” Read a tweet by SpaceX

Yusaku is a 42-year-old Japanese billionaire known mostly as an online fashion tycoon.

He is supposed to be in the lift-off on the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR), a launch system that was unveiled by Mr Musk in 2016 currently planned for 2023.

24 people have traveled to the moon before among them Apollo but theirs was for scientific reasons and not amusement.

SpaceX shuttle named the ‘BFR’ will be the most “powerful” rocket in history according to the company, it will have the capability of launching to space and returning back to earth and flying again.

“…BFR—will be the most powerful rocket in history, capable of carrying humans to the Moon, Mars, and beyond…” SpaceX tweeted.

Maezawa posted that he would invite not less than 8 artists from around the world to tour with him.

“They will be asked to create something after they return to Earth. These masterpieces will inspire the dreamer within all of us,” he told reporters
