Police in Nigeria have arrested a pastor who claims to have escaped unhurt after being struck by 40 bullets that were allegedly fired at him by gangsters.

Pastor David Elijah of Grace and Power Prophetic Ministry in Anambra state was seized by Nigerian police officers over suspicions of stage managing the incident.

The Nigerian police wondered why the controversial pastor had failed to report the incident to the police but instead proceeded to church to tell his congregation about the incident.

It is indisputable that on Sept. 6th between 9 am to 10 am, the Pastor said that he was attacked by unknown gunmen along Enugu-Udi road in Enugu state and his vehicle was riddled with bullets, but he escaped unhurt. “However, instead of reporting the incident at the nearest police station where the incident took place, the pastor drove to his church in Awka and attracted the attention of his congregation who were waiting for him at the church premises for a church event,” The Anambra state police said in a statement.

Photos of the man of the cloth who is reportedly one of the richest pastors in Nigeria wearing torn clothes inside a bullet-ridden vehicle appeared online causing abuzz.

A few days before the incident, the man had posted photos of himself flaunting wads of cash claiming he was in Malaysia on a mission
