Nairobi, KENYA: Chaos broke out at City hall as a section of MCA’s from Nairobi stormed the premises demanding to eject embattled Nairobi county speaker Beatrice Elachi.

Elachi was forced to hide in her office strong room, to avoid facing the wrath of irate MCAs as they insisted that she took refuge in the toilet.
Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok addressing the media said that he was arranging to call the security officers to get her out of the toilet .
” For reasons related to health, it’s only prudent that we allow her out without much drama” Imwatok said.
As this was happening, some of the nominated MCAs, were carrying chairs out of office and shouting insisting that she must vacate office.
Elachi was impeached on Thursday last week by the city legislators, who accused her of
abuse of office and deliberate sabotage schemes.
Drama ensued for the better part of the afternoon as she had to scamper for safety while addressing the media after learning that the MCAs had mobilized themselves to forcefully eject her out.
Elachi has been at loggerheads with the assembly clerk Jacob Ngwele on tender related
issues at the assembly
She had secured orders from the labour court stopping the MCAs from impeaching her, but
the assembly leadership insists that order was served a day after and thus holds no legal ground.
