Ghana Black-stars arrive for AFCON qualifier clash with Harambee stars

Nairobi, KENYA: The Black Stars of Ghana jetted in on Thursday at 7 pm from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where they had been pitched camp since Monday.

The  23-players squad led by Kwadwo Asamoah, coach Kwesi Appiah, and 10 officials left Jomo Kenyatta international airport at 8 pm to their assigned hotel where they will be camping before Saturday’s AFCON qualifiers against host Kenya at Kasarani.

“Kenya is home, we severally camp here, we feel free everything is good, the weather, the language, and the people too”.coach Appiah said.

The four-time African champions top their group with three points level with second place being  Sierra Leone who are slated to play Ethiopia on Sunday.

Harambee stars need a win to revive their chances of qualifying for the championship slated for Cameroon next year after losing 2-1 against Sierra Leone in their opening match last year.

Kenyan coach Sebastian Migne said he wants to make a competitive come back before facing Ethiopia in November and December.

The match kicks off at 4 pm on Saturday at Kasarani.
