Turn up on 8th for Harambee Stars, FKF boss asks Kenyans

Nairobi, KENYA: FKF president Nick mwendwa has urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers to support the national soccer team Harambee Stars in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier tie against Ghana.

Mwendwa believes the 12th man on the pitch can help Harambee Stars down Black Stars in a must win match scheduled for September 8 at Kasarani stadium.

Kenya is placed third in her group with zero points having lost 2-1 to Sierra Leone in match-day one.

Coach Sébastien Migné has called up 38 players who are expected to hit the training camp starting Monday next week in readiness for the clash.

Skipper Victor Wanyama who returned to training with his English club Tottenham has also been included in the squad alongside his elder brother Mac Donald Mariga.

Other players who have been named in the squad include Goalkeeper Patrick Matasi, Ian otieno, Gor Mahia’s Boniface Oluoch.

Defenders: Brian Mandela, David Owino, Joseph Okumu, Musa Mohammed, David ochieng, Abud Omar and Dennis Odhiambo.

Midfielders: Clifton Miheso, Paul Were, Ismael Gonzalez, Whyvonne Isuza, Eric Johanna, Johanna Omollo and Samuel Onyango.

Strikers: Michael Olunga, Ovella ochieng, Jesse Were, Masud Juma, Allan Wanga and Piston Mutamba.

Ghana will be without the Ayew brothers (Andre and Jordan) and Asamoah Gyan.
