Nairobi,KENYA:Garissa Governor Ali Korane has been arrested for attempted murder.
Korane was arrested alongside three others in connection to last week’s shooting of former county Finance CEC Idriss Mukhtar.
Korane was picked by police on Tuesday morning and taken to Nairobi area police station for questioning.
Idris Aden Mukkhtar was shot in the head by a three-man gang outside a hotel in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
Police investigations revealed that the gang trailed the victim to his car and shot him at close range before escaping without stealing anything from him.
Mukhtar is in critical condition in hospital.
The probe on the shooting was accelerated by a directive from the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji who demanded the file within a week.
