17  time Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia on Monday morning departed to Algeria where they will be facing USM Alger at 3 pm on Wednesday for a chance to qualify for the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Gor Mahia, which is leading group D with 8 points, same as USM Alger, will be looking for a win after they suffered a 2-1 loss against Rayon sport of Rwanda at Kasarani stadium almost two weeks ago.

A win against rayon sport would have seen them easily sail through to the quarterfinals, but Head coach Dylan Kerr says he is still confident that they will make it past the group stages of the competition.

Striker Jacques Tuyisenge will miss the action after picking an injury while they were playing the Rwandan side .

The last meeting between K’Ogalo and USM ended in a draw. They both need a win to go through.

The ‘Green army’ looks more fit despite the busy schedule having been playing three matches a week, something that was giving head coach Kerr sleepless nights.

Back at home, they have six matches to play at the Kenyan premier league as they stand on top of the table with 71 points, although the remaining matches might not be of much concern to them since they have been crowned the 2017-2018 premier champions.
