Nairobi,KENYA: Former National Lands Commission chair Mohammed Swazuri now wants to be reinstated.

The embattled chair wrote a letter to Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua saying that his replacement, by then Vice Chair Abigael Mbagaya Mukolwe, was unconstitutional.

Swazuri also claims that Mbagaya who took over as acting chair was responsible for him being arrested.

In his letter, Swazuri alleges that Abigail was involved in shady dealings while she was vice chair and that he has evidence of her corrupt dealings.

The former chair now wants Kinyua’s help in what seems like the end of the road for him and the commission.

“My request is that you urgently intervene in this matter by seeking answers to the reasons why EACC violated my constitutional rights and assist in addressing the issue of my ostensible removal from the office,” said Swazuri in the four-page letter.

Swazuri was charged in court last week with numerous corruption charges relating to compensation for the standard gauge railway.
