Kwale Girls have emerged the East African football champions in the 17th edition of the Brookside East Africa Secondary School Games in Rwanda.
The Girls beat Ugandan side Kawempe Muslimi 1-0 in the girls’ football final at the Ubworoherane Stadium on Sunday.
Kwale Girls who claimed the Kenyan title last month, at this year’s National Secondary Schools Term Two Games at the Hill School in Eldoret, showed their prowess by winning the East African title.
The Coastal side overcame Uganda’s Mukono High School 3-0 in Saturday’s semis as Kawempe overcame 2016 champions GS Remera 5-3 on post-match penalties to propel the teams to a fascinating finals.
