Brazilian ballon d’Or award winner Ronaldo was taken ill and admitted to hospital in the Mediterranean island of Ibiza over the weekend.

It all began with unconfirmed reports on Spanish media stating that the 41-year-old had been under the intensive care unit (ICU)  at Can Misses hospital after contracting Pneumonia and that prompted him to speak and clear the air about his condition.

“I had strong flu that started when I was in Ibiza and I had to be rushed to hospital on Friday but it’s all in order”, tweeted Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is a world celebrated footballer of all time who scored 62 times for Brazil including the game against Germany in the 2002 world cup finals.

Having played for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter  Milan and AC Milan respectively, Ronaldo showed his vote of gratitude to all his fans for their love and well wishes.

The striker’s career ended seven years ago after hanging up the boot having been with Corinthians in Brazil.

The star won two La Liga titles with Real as well as UEFA with Inter Milan.

Ronaldo was among the Brazilian squad that won the 1994 world cup although he never featured in any match but helped Brazil to reach world cup finals in 1997 and 2002.

Ronaldo was invited in the just concluded Russia 2018 world cup as a special guest who featured in the opening ceremony at Lizhinik stadium in Morocco.

However, the striker says he is getting better and will be discharged soon.
