Mombasa,KENYA:If you are a youth in Mombasa and love painting or interior design and/ or would like to get professional skills on the same then here’s your chance.
Mombasa County government is planning on training 2000 youths in interior design, marketing and painting on a fully paid course.
The project which is partnership between the department of Youth, Gender, Sports and Cultural Affairs and Rangi Africa will train and empower youth across the county in a period of 1 year.
CEC for Gender and Sports Munywoki Kyalo, says they’ll be training a minimum of 120 youths every month.
The slots will be distributed to 20 youths per constituency.
“You realise we usually have a shortage when it comes to these skills, therefore we hope this initiative will improve the employable skills of our young men and women interested in design and painting,” said Munywoki.
“We hope it is going to help them earn a little from the skills they get,” he added.
The initiative will also help in achieving one of the county’s big four agendas -better housing for its people.
