Mombasa, KENYA: Likoni MP Mishi Mboko on Monday issued certificates to youths who excelled after undergoing training aimed at improving their business skills at Likoni social Hall.
Speaking to Baraka FM ,Mishi said that 72% of the population within Likoni constituency comprises of the youth, and therefore they should be given the first priority in terms of empowering them.
“We will work together with the national government to provide revenue and funds that will help the youths improve their living standards,” she said.
She further called upon for unity among youths and urged them to work as a team and only focus on things that will be of benefit to them.
“Let us work as a team, to create a positive narrative amongst ourselves and forget about the negative ones in order to make Likoni a better place,” she added.
Speaking at the same event, Mombasa Senator Mohammed Faki described the project as one that has been part and parcel on bringing the youths together.
He also promised to launch other projects like distributing water tanks not only in Likoni but in areas within Mombasa, especially places that are experiencing scarcity of water.
“We will work for the citizens to ensure that they are all enjoying their rights,” he said.
Over 150 graduates received the certificates after having undergone training.
