Mombasa,KENYA Former Garsen MP Danson Buya Mungatana last week got a breakthrough after he was appointed as the commissioner of the COMESA Competition Authority taking the oath of office on 19th July during the 20th COMESA heads of state summit.

However, things have not been all smooth for the former politician and Kenya Ports Authority chairperson as he has been on a job hunting mission since his gubernatorial bid failed.

  1. Tana River county speaker

Even before the electoral dust had settled, Mungatana was on a job hunting mission and this time around, Mungatana was eyeing the Tana River county speaker position.

However, just a few hours before the elections, Mungatana withdrew from the race giving a smooth win to former senatorial aspirant Justin Nkadunda.

  1. Meru county Chief Legal officer

Not long after his failed speakers bid, Mungatana who is a lawyer by profession had been shortlisted for the position of the Meru county Chief legal officer.

Mungatana was shotlisted alongside Ayub K Anamapiu and  Muriuki Evans Gitonga.

However, luck was not on Mungatana’s side a third time around.

3.Tana River County Clerk

Earlier in the year, Mungatana appeared in the shortlist of the candidates for the Tana River county clerk position.

However, Mungatana who was among 24 candidates eyeing the position failed to show up for interviews before the Tana River county service Board.
