London, ENGLAND: Liverpool has agreed a 66.8million pounds (Ksh8.8billion) for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Ramses Becker also known as Alisson.
Liverpool’s bid for the Brazilian will break the current record for a keeper as made by Juventus to Parma for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001 at 53m Euros.
The 25-year-old started his career at Brazilian International and has been in Roma for two years where he played 37 Serie A games last season.
In the 2018 FIFA World cup in Russia, He played all five games, keeping three clean sheets, before Brazil were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by Belgium.
Reports indicate that Alisson will not travel with Roma’s squad for their International Champions Cup pre-season fixtures in the United States.
Alisson also helped the Serie A side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League where they lost 7-6 to Liverpool over two legs.
Liverpool is now expected to hold talks with the Brazil international as they also fly to the USA for a three-game tour on Saturday.
