Nairobi, KENYA: (PSCU) President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday said Kenya is working to broaden its partnership with Germany in sectors that lead to wealth and employment creation in the country.
Speaking at State House when he bade farewell to the outgoing ambassador to Kenya Ms. Jutta Frasch, President Kenyatta said co-operation between Kenya and Germany continues to grow from strength to strength.
“We appreciate the support you continue giving us. We look forward to continued partnership with your successor”, President Kenyatta told Ms. Frasch who leaves the country on Thursday for other duties in Berlin.
President Kenyatta said Kenya looks forward to more investments from Germany to catalyze economic growth and create jobs.
He said Kenya appreciates the support given by Berlin particularly in areas of the economy and governance.
The President said last year was a difficult year but the country is now making good progress.
The outgoing ambassador said her country appreciates the good socio-economic progress Kenya is making adding that the economy is picking up well.
“The economy is picking up well and we shall assist where we can,” said the envoy.
She said Germany has immense interests in the country and Berlin will continue supporting Kenya wherever it can.
The outgoing envoy said she had enjoyed her stay in Nairobi over the last three years and underscored Kenya’s world-class tourist attractions as one of the country’s unique selling point to global audiences.
