Nairobi, KENYA: Tactician Anthony Mwangi has been feted as the Kenyan Premier League best coach of the month for May.

Mwangi scooped the Fidelity Insurance sponsored gong following a superb run he had with Nakumatt during that month where he guided the shoppers to four wins and a draw in five matches.

The success, however, did not hedge Mwangi from losing the top job at the club with management demoting him to assistant capacity to pave ways for American Melis Medo who has taken over as the head coach.

Meanwhile, Mwangi took home Kshs 75000 courtesy of sponsors, Fidelity Insurance, and personalized trophy in appreciation for his services.

Nakumatt is currently ranked 12th in the 18-team Kenyan Premier League table standings having amassed 24 points from 21 matches played so far this season.

They will play ninth place Tusker in their next league assignment next weekend.
