MKU student crowned as Miss tourism Mombasa

Mombasa,KENYA: Mount Kenya University student Mourine Mwangi was crowned Miss Tourism Mombasa County  edging out  12 contestants.

The event which took place at Fort Jesus rooftop  on Friday evening was graced by Mombasa women representative Ashu Mohammed, Rizfar beauty collage CEO among others.

With a lot of creativity being witnessed the models majored in creative wear, cultural wear, dinner wear and professional wear.

A panel of four judges made the judgment on basis of personality, attitude, catwalk and creativity of the models.

Elvina Wanjiru and Melanin Mwangi made the first and second runners up respectively.

Miss Tourism Nyamira County, Nairobi County, Meru County, Kilifi County and the outgoing Mombasa County were also present to witness the event.

Mombasa Women representative Asha Mohammed encouraged the models not to give up and to forward their proposals in 2019 for funding.

The beauty contest was sponsored by Coast Woman magazine, Red bull energy Drink Company, Malaika Hair Company and Rizfar beauty collage.

Mourine Mwangi will receive a fully paid vacation in Nakuru curtesy of Bonfire Adventures.
