Speaking to Baraka FM after the accident victims, Ms Muumina Molu and David Mui said the bus rolled when it slipped on the slippery road following heavy rains in the area.
According to Ms. Molu a passenger who had boarded the bus at Bura town, the driver lost control due to the slipperiness of the muddy road before the bus rolled.
” I boarded the bus from Bura but on reaching this area the bus started slipping because the road is muddy due to heavy rains. Eventually the bus lost control before it rolled,” said the victim.
The victims affirmed that the accident was due to the rains saying the driver was not over speeding.
The accident comes some few weeks after another bus operating in the same route Nairobi – Hola caused accident leading to minor injuries.
The bus rolled at Kithioko in Machakos along Nairobi- Hola where passengers were slightly injured and taken to nearby hospital.
