Kilifi,KENYA:Police in Kilifi have seized 4624 rolls bhang worth 6.3 million .
According to police , the 4624 rolls of Bhang were apprehended along the Kilifi –Kaloleni road.
The bhang which was seized on Saturday was being ferried from Homabay to Malindi on a Toyota Axio Saloon car which is currently in police custody.
Kilifi OCPD Fred Ochieng said the driver of the vehicle Silvester Odhiambo who is aged 30 years had been arrested while his accomplice managed to escape.
This came just a few hours after another 62 rolls of Bhang were seized in Mariakani.
This is the highest seizure of bhang seized in Kilifi county in 2018.
Last year a driver jumped in the ocean at Mtwapa bridge after police stopped his vehicle which was ferrying 3120 rolls of Bhang that had been packed in 100 kg bags.
