Nairobi,KENYA:Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chair Wafula Chebukati has re-suspended the CEO Ezra Chiloba hours after a court overturned Chiloba’s earlier suspension.
In a statement issued on Friday evening, Chebukati argued that the commission was still conducting investigations on questionable procurement processes.
“Based on these reasons, you are hereby suspended with immediate effect from your duties as the CEO and accounting officer of IEBC for a period of three months.”
As noted in a letter, Chiloba is also accused of suing the IEBC commission while in the employment and more so acting in an outright manner especially in the 14[c] and 15, of his employment.
Chiloba who had moved to the employment and labour relations court seeking to overturn his suspension argured that his March suspension was unfair
Later on, the IEBC chair ordered a compulsory leave, with immediate effect pending the completion of the comprehensive audit following the emerged issues during the previous election.
