Mombasa,KENYA:Mombasa women rep Asha Hussein was on Monday charged for allegedly assaulting and causing bodily harm to a county officer.
The court heard that on 11th May 2018 at Majengo area of Mvita subcounty, Asha who is serving her first term in office assaulted Ms Mayasa Hassan causing her bodily harm.
The victim Mayasa Hussein who is a county traffic marshal alleges to have been admitted at Jocham hospital following the incident.
She pleaded not guilty to the charge before Mombasa chief magistate Julius Nangea.
Her lawyer Mr.Paul Buti requested court to give a leniency bail inorder to enable her to serve her electorate.
The court ordered her realeased on a bond of one hundred thousands shillings and surerity of the same or a cash bail of 50 thousands shillings.
The case is set for mention on 28th June.
The prosecution has lined up four witnesses who include the alleged victim.
