Gor Mahia eased past Singida to book a date with Simba

Nakuru, KENYA: The 2018 edition of the Sportpesa Super Cup final will feature two of the best Eastern and Central African clubs Gor Mahia of Kenya and Tanzanian champions Simba.

The clash to be staged on Sunday at Afraha Stadium in the outskirts of Nakuru town will see the two heavyweights go hammer and thongs with a focus being a chance to play English Premier League club Everton next month.

En route to the finals, Gor Mahia who are the title holders eased past Tanzanian outfit Singida 2-0 with Ugandan born Rwandan import Meddie Kagere proving why he is the fans’ darling by prodding a brace.

Meanwhile, Simba edged Kenyan side Kakamega Homeboyz 5-4 on post-match penalties after a barren draw in regulation, both matches were held at Afraha on Thursday.

Besides booking a ticket to face Everton at Goodison Park next month, the winner of the tournament will also pocket Sh3 million.
