Well wishers host Iftar dinner for physically challenged persons in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: Physically Challenged Persons in Mombasa were on Wednesday treated to an annual Iftar event at Tononoka social hall.

The event was organized by Al-Muqtadir association with an aim to ensure that the physically challenged persons are not left behind when it comes to Iftar.

Speaking on behalf of Al-Muqtadir Association, Founder Ramla Said said that the physically challenged persons are most of the time neglected by the society and thus this led them to come up with the association.

“The aim of hosting this event is to bring together all the disabled people in the society, eat and drink together and more so providing the public awareness on disability.” She said.

In attendance also was Mvita Mp Abdul Swammad Nassir, accompanied by Mjambere ward administrator Abdul Hakim together with Magogoni ward administrator Ahmed Alamin.

Speaking during the event, Abdul Nassir promised to provide enough support to ensure that the community is well catered for in the society.

“We will work together to ensure that our brothers and sisters who are disable, gets all they deserve,” he said.
