Kwale,KENYA: Msambweni boys high school in Kwale county has been closed down for a week following an attempt to burn one of the dormitories in the wee hours of Monday the second attempt in a span of less than two years.
According to police sources petrol and Kerosene jars had been found at scene of the incidents.
No student was injured nor property destroyed as fire fighters managed to put down the fire before it had caused any damage.
Kwale county commissioner Karuku Ngumo confirmed the incident saying action would be taken against petrol vendor and students found culpable.
All the students are expected to be escorted back to school by their parents on Monday next week.
This comes in the wake of an increase in school fire incidents suspected to be as a result of arson.
Two dormitories belonging to the Kamangut school in Uasin Ngishu county were over the weekend razed down by a fire .
Last month 5 students were injured after fire razed down a domitory at the Lamu boys school in yet another suspected arson incident.
Three students were later arrested after they were linked to the incident.
