Mombasa,KENYA:The newly elected Kinondo ward MCA Hamisi Pweza is expected to be sworn in on Friday.
This is according to a notice in the latest edition of the Kenya Gazette.
According to the notice issued by the Kwale county speaker Stanely Ruwa,Pweza would be sworn in a special siting of the Kwale county assembly.
“It is notified for the information of Members of the County Assembly of Kwale that a special sitting of the Assembly shall be held in the County Assembly Chamber in the County Assembly Buildings, Kwale, on Friday, 11th May, 2018 at 12.00 noon for the purpose of swearing in Hamisi Mohamed Oman, as the Member County Assembly for Kinondo Ward.” Reads part of the gazette notice.
Hamisi Mohamed Oman popularly known as Hamisi Pweza of the Orange Democratic Party trounced the former MCA Juma Maone of Jubilee party in a by election held on 18th April after garnering 3412 votes against Maone’s 2704 votes.
This was after Maone’s election was annulled by the Kwale high court in December paving way for a by election.
