Nairobi,KENYA:The by-election for Kinondo ward in Mswambeni constituency,Kwale county will be held on 18th April 2018.
This is according to an announcement by the IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati on the latest gazette notice which listed the names of the candidates who had been cleared to vie.
The incumbent Juma Maone who is vying on a Jubilee ticket will face off with his closest rival ODM’s Hamisi Omari Mohamed.
Other candidates who have been cleared to vie include Abdalla Juma of National Vision Party and Chula Mzee Kalole of the Devolution party of Kenya.
The voter tallying will take place at Kinondo social hall .
There arose confusion after the incumbent Juma Maone tied with his ODM rival Hamisi Omari Mohamed.
Maone had already been issued with the certificate without the results from Msambweni which saw him tie with Hamisi at 2600 votes.
In December the Kwale law court nullified Maone’s election and ordered him to pay sh 100,000 as petition expenses.
