Former KTN straight up presenter and sister to Tanzanian songstress Vanessa Mdee , Namtero Mdee has addressed long-running allegations that she was brainwashed hence the reason she quit showbiz and hurriedly got married.

Namtero who now goes by the name Nancy Hebron is currently on Tour in Nairobi has said that quitting showbiz and giving her life to Christ was purely her personal decision in pursuit for inner peace and happiness.

Namtero who was speaking on her former employer  Homeboyz radio’s Ignition show says she heeded a calling to serve Christ.

“I didn’t join a cult, I wasn’t brainwashed. I accepted Christ and I started serving him and I love it. I wouldn’t change anything, it was the best decision ever.” Namtero said.

“God called me. It wasn’t easy, for 8 years this was the life (media life) I knew. It reached a point where I wasn’t happy. I would smile but I wasn’t really happy I wasn’t satisfied I was in a place of confusion and I had to make a choice.” Namtero added

Namtero who is now a minister and gospel singer is in Kenya to promoter her gospel songs.

Namtero made an unexpected showbiz exit in 2012 at the height of her media career and reports later emerged that she had gotten married to pastor Hebron Kinsamo of Calvary temple church in Arusha.

It would later emerge that a section of her family members had unsuccessfully tried to stop the wedding to the man of the cloth with reports on both Kenyan and Tanzanian media indicating that only her mother attended the wedding.

Namtero mdee who since ditched her secular dressing for more conservative dressing now has five gospel songs  Jesus which she has sung with her musical sisters Vanessa Mdee and Mimi Mars , Taa Ya Miguu yangu, Silogeki, Hakuna kunitoa kwa Yesu and  Malaika.
