Nairobi, KENYA: Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has been arrested over allegations of being involved in the forgery of Treasury Bills amounting Sh633 million.
He was arrested on Friday alongside two accomplices.
Central Bank communications director Wallace Kantai on Friday said Keter and other individuals have been arrested for presenting forged Treasury Bills purportedly issued by the CBK in the 1990s
The arrests is an aftermath of a tussle between him and the Jubilee administration after denouncing to withdraw his chairmanship of parliamentary labor committee as directed by Jubilee leadership.
In January, President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned him and three other MPs who defied a directive to resign from the committees they were elected to head.
The other chairs who were affected include, Moiben’s Silas Tiren, Marakwet MP David Bowen and Emgwen’s
