First cruise ship this year Ms Nautica, docks in Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: 2018 has started on a positive note for the Tourism industry as a cruise ship on Thursday docked at the Port of Mombasa with 971 tourists from Europe.

MS Nautica, which is operated by Oceania Cruises, docked at the port of Mombasa early morning from Zanzibar.

It is the first cruise ship to arrive in the country this year with more expected between this month and March.

The American cruise ship always docks at the port of Mombasa every January while en-route to Mahe, Seychelles from Zanzibar Islands of Tanzania.

Kenya Tourism Board officials welcome tourists with gifts

Ms Nautica docks for a day at Mombasa Port and the passengers are expected to go for a safari in Amboseli & Shimba Hills among other attractions.

Last year in January, the cruise ship arrived in Mombasa with 1,050 visitors; 654 passengers and 396 crew on board.
