Nairobi, KENYA: The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has postponed electoral exercise in HomaBay ,Migori and Siaya counties.
In a media briefing in Nairobi IEBC chair, Wafula Chebukati said that the commission took such action due to security reasons after the counties were marred with chaos involving road blockade and burning of bonfires in some streets of the affected counties including siaya and Migori.
He said that voting process was affected in Kitui county due to weather conditions leading to the destruction of voting materials.
He indicated that the commission rectified the mess and voting exercise is ongoing.
He pointed that the polling stations in which the polling commenced late will be extended to cover the time lost.
Earlier, the chair and commissioners were in a meeting where from morning hours were discussing on the matter.
