Dominant Kenya qualify for Championship semis

Yaounde, CAMEROON: Africa Nations women’s volleyball defending champions Kenya’s Malkia Strikers cruised past Democratic of Republic of Congo 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12) to qualify for the ongoing championship in Cameroon on Monday.

Middle blocker Wisah Mukuvulani starred for the Japheth Munala coached side with 13 points followed by Trizah Atuka who posted 12, while Margot Mutshima contributed 8 points as the best scorer from the losers.

Malkia Striker’s success, make’s this their third win in as many matches, having had defeated Senegal (25-21, 28-26, 25-15) and Nigeria (25-16, 25-8, 25-10) in their opening games.

Kenya will on Wednesday takes on Tunisia in its final pool B match of the competition which doubles up as the FIVB Women’s World Championship qualifier.
