Nairobi,KENYA:A somber mood engulfed Moi girls school  in Nairobi as a memorial mass was held today in honor of 9 girls who died in one of the dormitories two weeks ago.

This was after the their remains were successfully identified.

The girls are have been identified as  Natalie Nanga, Marcia Okello, Alakirr Malong, Hana Jeysso, Whitney Kerubo, Easter Neema, Hawa Aziz, Nancy Thuju and Mary Njengo.

Some of the form one girls who were in Kabarnet dormitory, were burnt beyond recognition.

In attendance were  the DP’s wife Racheal Ruto,  the Nairobi women rep Esther Passaris , Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja and Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

The girl’s bodies will be flown to their rural homes  to be laid to rest later in the week.

Investigators believe the fire  was started by a fellow student who was arraigned in court accused of murder and arson .

Barely a week after the Moi girl’s fire, a section of the kitchen at St George’s Girls Secondary School in Nairobi went ablaze but no injuries were reported.
