Nairobi, KENYA; National men’s soccer team Harambee Stars has dropped six places to position 88 in the latest World FIFA Rankings released on Thursday.

Stars who were ranked 82nd globally last month, also slipped in the continent where they are now listed 24th but remain second in the East Africa CECAFA region behind neighbors Uganda.

In Africa Egypt is the best ranked team followed by Tunisia and Senegal as the leading three countries in the continent.

World’s defending champions Germany has regained the top spot dislodging Brazil, while Portugal, Argentina, and Belgium complete the top-five positions globally.

The rankings are determined by respective team’s performance during the international FIFA calendar where teams that win their matches gain points while losers drop.
