Foreigners robbed at gunpoint in Bamburi, Mombasa

Mombasa, KENYA: Four foreigners have been robbed at gunpoint by six armed men in Bamburi, Mombasa, this is according to police.

The four whom police are yet to reveal their identities, were from joint social occasions when they were attacked as they arrived at their apartments in the area, during the Sunday midnight incident.

The incident comes barely a month after two Swiss couples were murdered and their bodies dumped at the roadside in Kiembeni.

Police identified the two as Marriane Harnel and Werner Borneve Paul.

Mombasa county police commander Peterson Maelo confirmed the incident to Baraka FM saying the four lost all their valuables but were however not harmed.

“We understand that the four were just about to enter their apartments when six armed people accosted them,we have launched investigations,” said police boss.

Cases of foreigners being attacked and robbed by unknown assailants in the area is on the rise.
