Nairobi,KENYA:Jubilee legislators have affirmed their readiness to the October polls, urging IEBC officials to get their act together .
Led by the leader of majority in parliament who is also the Garissa town Member of parliament Adan Duale the legislators have urged the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to hold a universal meeting with election stakeholders including both Jubilee and NASA to tell Kenyans how prepared they are.
“We are asking him to offer leadership and prepare the country for the October 17th we cannot have time for sideshows,” Duale said.
The legislators who were speaking on Friday Morning in parliament urged the IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati to avoid interference and concentrate on his election preparedness and criticized the commission over sideshows reffering the leaked memo incident from the IEBC .
Earlier the Jubilee party secretary general had rejected a team appointed by the IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati to oversee the October 17 polls.
Says NASA not ready
Duale said that the NASA coalition was not ready for polls arguing that they were busy raising money for campaiagn instead of campaigning.
“They asked for an annulement of the election , were it not ready.” Duale posed.
Duale further warned members of public against sending money to the NASA paybill number terming them as “Fraudsters”.
Duale’s remarks comes just a few hours after the NASA flag bearer unveiled a paybill number to raise money for NASA campaigns.
