Tennis star Serena Williams gave birth to a baby girl on Friday.
Reports had earlier emerged that Serena had been taken into labour at a hospital in Florida on Wednesday.
Serena reportedly cleared an entire floor at the St Mary’s palm beach medical centre in Florida for security purposes.
Her sister fellow tennis star Venus Williams told an American sports publication that she was super excited and was confident that Serena would make a good mother to the daughter.
Several of her celebrity friends including Beyonce have congratulated the Tennis star over her delivery.
Serena is yet to officially make the announcement but his coach Patrick Mouratoglou congratulated the tennis star on twitter writing.
“I am so happy for you and I feel your emotion.
Btw … I wish you a speedy recovery… we have a lot of work” ahead of us.”
Serena revealed that she was pregnant in April on snap chat a few months after her engagement to her fiancée Reddit cofounder Alex Ohanian.
She later revealed that she had made the revelation by mistake.
