Mombasa,KENYA:Chaos have disrupted the announcement of the results for the Likoni legislative seat  .

The Chaos began after the Incumbent  legislator Masoud Mwahima’s supporters clashed with Mishi Mboko’s supporters over what they termed as irregularities and alleged rigging in the constituency.

Earlier, the incumbent had threatened to attack the constituency  Returning officer Mrs  Jumwa Sanzua before he was restrained by police officers  and at one point police had to temporarily restrain him from accessing the room.

“We are warning  IEBC ,we are daring you to announce Mrs Mboko as the winner  and you will face dire consequences” Mwahima said.

Another aspirant Suleiman Shakombo who is  also eyeing the seat on a Wiper Party ticket  said they would not accept the results as they were no a true reflection of the people’s will.

Provisional results have showed the current Mombasa women representative Mishi Mboko ahead of the incumbent  Masoud Mwahima.

“We will not accept results knowing too well there were malpractices such as bribery” Shakombo told reporters.

Mwahima was seen consulting with his lawyer Ngibuini Gikandi outside the tallying centre premises.

Shakombo and Mwahima  claim they have now written a letter to  Returning officer which is yet to be received.

Hundreds of police officers have been deployed to the area.
