Kampala,Uganda:Security forces in Uganda say they have impounded a vehicle in which men suspected to be killers of the late IEBC chief Chris Msando were travelling in.
Security forces say the 3 a Kenyan and 2 Ugandan were enroute to the South Sudanese capital Juba when they were intercepted in Amuru area of Northern Uganda on Friday evening.
A police spokesperson from the area Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed to Ugandan paper the Daily monitor that the arrest was in connection to Msando’s murder.
“It’s believed that the vehicle could be for killers, but I still don’t have all the details, may be Interpol will give all the details. However, this is the little information I have, the arrest is related to Msando’s death,” Jimmy said.
It is believed that the 3 Mathew Butia ,Joseph Okongo and Moses Goloba entered Uganda through Malaba with the impounded vehicle a Toyota fortuner which had Kenyan number plates .The three then proceeded to change the number plates to Ugandan at Tororo district in the Eastern part of the country.
The arrest comes just a few days after police revealed that they were intending to question 6 people among them an unammed MP and Woman representative from Central Kenya who were the first to arrive at the Scene where Msando’s vehicle was found in Roysambu area of Nairobi on Monday.
Msando who was the acting IEBC ICT chief was found murdered at the Kenya Forest Research Institute forest located in Muguga area of Kiambu county on Saturday after disappearing on Friday evening.
