Mombasa, KENYA: Kenyans from all walks of life came together to witness the launch of the first SGR train maiden trip that was presided by President Uhuru.

The President was accompanied by his deputy William Ruto, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, several Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Members of Parliament and representatives from each county including students.

The Madaraka Express that left at around 10:30 am it was at full capacity with 1,200 passengers, excited to be a part of history.

The train left Mombasa terminus a few minutes at around 11 am on Monday and made various stops at Mariakani , Voi, Mtito Andei, Kibwezi, Emali, Athi River and finally the Nairobi terminus.
