Mombasa,KENYA:Posta Kenya has officially launched the Standard gauge railway stamp ahead of the official launch on Tuesday.
In the launch which took place at the company premises in Huduma centre in Mombasa the corporation post master general Dan Kagwe said that its history for the corporation to launch a new stamp to mark every historical event in the country.
“There are two types of stamps, the definitive one which is the normal one used in letters and the commemorative one like the one we are launching today because the SGR will be there for years.”Kagwe said during the launch.
Mr Kagwe added that the stamps would range from sh 35 to sh 400 shillings.
The launch of the stamp comes a day ahead of the maiden trip of the standard gauge railway line where the Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta is set to board the train from the port city of Mombasa to the capital Nairobi on Wednesday.
