Mombasa, KENYA: Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has claimed that there is a group of youths being trained in one of the forests at the Coast so as to cause chaos in the coming August General elections.
Speaking in Likoni YWCA hall after meeting the Mijikenda elders on Sunday, Awiti added that the militia gang is being funded by tycoons and local politicians in Mombasa.
The legislature has called on security agents to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book, before they cause mayhem.
When asked how many youths were being trained and who are the financiers; Awiti said his is to blow the whistle so as to let the security agents investigate and arrests the perpetrators.
“They don’t have to wait for information, I have already volunteered,” said the Legislator.
Awiti who has showed interest in Mombasa gubernatorial seat in the August general elections, warned the financiers saying he will lead others to engage the militia if they try to cause havoc.
“Let the CID investigate the claims, as a leader I have given out information,now if we name the forests they are being trained definitely they will run away and they will not be arrested,” said Awiti.
Some of the known forests at the coast are Kaya bombo,Kaya Similani and Mulungunipa.
